Dame Harry’s Big Camp Birthday Bash
Ladies and gentlemen, I have officially turned over to the wrong side of 20. Last weekend I celebrated my 26th anniversary since I touched a fanny and so I had a wee gathering and a venture into town to commemorate my birthmas… and of course, copious beverages. 🍾 I knew I wanted to look sassy (well, as sassy as you can look when you’re one of life’s rotters) and so I had a theme to my social gathering; CAMP. Yes, following the Met Gala’s theme this year, I decided to have a ‘Camp’ themed party. However, I felt that a lot of guests didn’t quite get the ‘camp’ aspect of…

Press Night for ‘random’ at Leeds Playhouse’s Pop-Up theatre
It’s just an ordinary day in the ordinary life of an ordinary family. As the alarm clock flicks over to 7:37 am, a day begins for an average teenager. After wolfing down a rushed breakfast, they join the hustle and bustle of the outside world. However, all it takes for one random event to completely flip a family’s life on its head. Lives are changed forever following a devastating catastrophe. random by debbie tucker green and directed by Gbolahan Obisesan is a brilliant one-woman show that focuses on the grief and bewilderment of a family tragedy. The demanding role was played by Kiza Deen (Silent Witness and Hollyoaks) and she plays the role…

Press Night for ‘Kes’ at Leeds Playhouse’s Pop-Up Theatre
I, like most northern folk, watched the film Kes. It was a poignant tale about the working class struggles in Barnsley. The 1968 Ken Loach film, based on the book A Kestrel For A Knave by Barry Hines, is a cult classic that has been watched and loved by generations. Now, the beloved tale of Billy Casper and his treasured pet, Kes, has been adapted for the stage and I have to tell you, I thought it was fantastic. I had the privilege of being invited to the Press Night for Kes at Leeds Playhouse’s Pop-Up Theatre. Now, I haven’t been to Leeds Playhouse (formerly West Yorkshire Playhouse) for quite a few…

Leonardo Da Vinci: A Life In Drawing @ Leeds Art Gallery
The 1st of February 2019 marks the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo Da Vinci. Crazy right? He died 500 years ago and yet he’s still known and admired by generations all over the world. To commemorate this monumental anniversary, Leeds Art Gallery has put on a fascinating exhibition of 12 unbelievable illustrations by the Renaissance master himself. I had the pleasure and privilege of attending the Private View of “Leonardo Da Vinci: A Life In Drawing” and I’m so glad I was because the exhibition was phenomenal. To be able to stand so close and really analyse and check every little detail in his sketches. It’s crazy to…

Mini Golf @ Roxy Ballroom, Leeds
Time for a little review, last night I had the pleasure of being invited to play a game of mini golf at Roxy Ballroom on Boar Lane, Leeds. Of course, this was just a short walk from my office in town so I thought why not. It’s not like I was putting myself out there too much! Shit puns over, on to the review! I was invited by the Pink Gorilla Promotions team in Leeds to come and have a swing (sorry) at the new indoor mini-golf course. Naturally, I said yes, I mean, why not… It’s been a while since I played and I thought it could be a…
