BIRTHDAY BOYS by Tom Selmon

I had the great privilege of modelling for one of Tom’s editorials. It was such a fun shoot to be a part of with such an interesting narrative and style. Harry J Bartlett x Tom Selmon
It was interesting to be photographed in such an androgynous way. You may remember the last time I modelled for one of Tom’s shoots where I had an Andrej Pejic vibe. We shot this some time either last year or the year before. It’s always fun to play one of Tom’s androgynous and unconventional beauties and his ‘Birthday Boys’ shoot was no different.

Tom Selmon’s Inspiration

This editorial was inspired by the idea of Cabaret but I want to make it seem more surreal by bringing it into the studio and the use of props. For the some of the looks I was partly inspired by Mathu Anderson, I think it is clear to see which ones they are! For the rest of the looks I just played around with androgyny and male beauty and thought it would be interesting to mix the two, trying to create an overall vibe of a community, like you would have in a Cabaret.” – Tom Selmon

It’s fair to say that I look pretty different in these images and if you can’t clock me in the group shot, I’m the one on the left with the bob wig.
The shoot was nice and relaxed and we had a great team working with us to help deliver the editorial.
