Here we are again. H&M’s famous annual collaboration has become a thing of dreams for most people who want a high-street bite of a high-class brand. Now, my prayers have finally been answered! Moschino has been confirmed as the next H&M collaboration and I cannot wait – but sadly i’m going to have to… 8th of November to be precise.
News of the announcement was first revealed on Saturday night at Jeremy Scott’s 11th annual party which was held at the Coachella music festival.
The highly anticipated collaboration which is widely watched on the fashion calendar was announced on Instagram. The announcement was brought to us via Gigi Hadid who started an Instagram live call with Jeremy, creative director at Moschino. Both dressed head to toe in clothing from the upcoming collection which gave us all a little taste of what’s to come.
“I’m so excited about Moschino and H&M. My life’s work has been to connect with people through fashion and with this collaboration I’ll be able to reach more of my fans than I’ve ever had the ability to do.”
After Jeremy Scott’s long-standing collaboration with adidas came to an end in 2017, this partnership will offer fans of his work to grab a piece of the magic at a more accessible price point.
The Moschino [tv] H&M collection will range from approximately £25 – £300. Scott told Vogue; “There’s a silver sequinned parka dress”.
“Denim pieces are all twisted into something else. Puffers and jackets are reconfigured into cropped things or double-long things. There’s a sportswear-with-evening kind of feeling, like a hockey jersey with a train.”
The creative director for H&M, Ann-Sofie Johansson, said the partnership is “the perfect collaboration for fashion right now”. Scott mixes streetwear, logos, glamour and pop culture all into one big pot and creates desirable fashion.
The Moschino x H&M collaboration has big boots to fill
Moschino will follow in the footsteps of the phenomenally successful Erdem collaboration from last year. Futhermore, I’m still bitter I didn’t manage to get anything from as the website crashed. In fact, I’m riled. Scott’s Moschino [tv]’s collection is set to include womenswear, menswear and accessories.
Moschino is set to join quite an impressive resume to the high-street brand. Karl Lagerfeld was the first in 2004 and since then we’ve seen huge designers from the likes of; Balmain, Kenzo and Versace to name a few.
The campaigns and launches are always big showcases for the collection. This year will be no different. The campaign is said to be a “radically innovative TV concept enmeshing social and traditional media to create a multi-platform takeover – a captivating new “zapping” experience for the digital world”.
I personally cannot wait! But sadly, I’m going to have to. Roll on November 8th. I better start saving my pennies now.
