RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – Meet The Queens
Long live our gracious Queen(s)! The time has come for us to finally meet the pioneering queens who will be taking part on the very first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – and my word has it been a long wait for us to finally get a British season! Not only are we meeting the queens, but we also have a start date! But let’s not fanny about, let’s meet the queens! That’s right, October 3rd (also known as Mean Girls day) is the start of the first-ever UK season. We don’t have too long to wait now! So let’s delve straight into the Meet The Queens video! It’s…

Food Photography – Gordon Rhodes’ New Vegan Range
This post maybe a little bit different compared to my usual house rants and Drag Race rambles that you see on my blog, but I thought it was about time I showcased some of my food photography work – after all, it is how I’m paying the bills. I’ve been shooting for Gordon Rhodes & The Dalesman Group for nearly 5 years now and I’ve never once uploaded any of my work onto the blog. That’s about to change as I recently shot a sassy little vegan range for Gordon Rhodes and I thought the images were worth sharing. Branching into new territories, the GR brand has launched a range…

10 Things I Love About Leeds – My Yorkshire Day Tribute
Ee by gum it’s only bloody Yorkshire Day! Much like gay pride, it’s a day to celebrate all things ‘Yorkshire’ but with fewer rainbows and glitter and more flat caps and gravy. To outsiders, an old Yorkshireman may appear to be grumpy, abrupt, miserable and possibly racist(?) but there are a lot of folks with some true northern charm. We’re a rare breed from God’s Own Country that tends to scare southerners, we speak to strangers, we sit with randomers in beer gardens and we’re not afraid to talk on public transport. Sure, Yorkshire may not be the epicentre of the UK’s cultural hub, but that doesn’t mean we’re left…

Dame Harry’s Big Camp Birthday Bash
Ladies and gentlemen, I have officially turned over to the wrong side of 20. Last weekend I celebrated my 26th anniversary since I touched a fanny and so I had a wee gathering and a venture into town to commemorate my birthmas… and of course, copious beverages. 🍾 I knew I wanted to look sassy (well, as sassy as you can look when you’re one of life’s rotters) and so I had a theme to my social gathering; CAMP. Yes, following the Met Gala’s theme this year, I decided to have a ‘Camp’ themed party. However, I felt that a lot of guests didn’t quite get the ‘camp’ aspect of…

White Choc Coco Pops – My Childhood Dreams Have Become A Reality
Once upon a time, I was a young, impressionable little boy with big dreams and high hopes, I never thought it would be possible that the world would bless us with white chocolate Coco Pops… but those days are over. We don’t need to be dreamers anymore, we’ve put a man on the moon, created a cordless vacuum cleaner and made mobile phones a reality. But a new dawn is upon us. A chance for us to finally create peace around the world. Why? For the first time in Coco Pops’ 59 years, they have finally made a white chocolate version! This isn’t an internet hoax, white chocolate Coco Pops…

Jaymi Hensley stars in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
For a while now, my friend Elisha and I have been saying that we wanted to relive our childhoods by going to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in person. It’s a show we both fondly remember from watching the Donny Osmond film version as children and now it was coming to Leeds and we thought we’d give it a whirl. Our expectations weren’t particularly high as we’ve always seen it as a ‘family musical’. We also thought it would be a tad dated and to be fair, it did come out in 1968 (51 years ago). However, as we were watching the show, we realised that the vocals had…

The weird, wacky and WTF ‘Pride’ contributions in the name of capitalism
Strap on (no pun intended) your gayest garments because pride season is just around the corner! And you know what that means… brands are going to act as allies to sell merchandise! Hooray! As you know, LGBT month is prime time for brands to pretend their ‘inclusive’ by throwing some gaudy rainbows on whatever products they’ve got. There seems to be a lot of “pinkwashing” these days. There are a few things in life that boils my piss and seeing brands that don’t really do much for the LGBT community slap a rainbow on some that during pride month is one of them. Not only that but I think it’s really…

*Field Notes by Robert J. Railton – Private View June 7th
I do love championing my friends and their escapades and this weekend I’ll be seeing my good friend Robert J. Railton‘s art exhibition in London. Robert and I first met many moons ago (I think 2012) at London Collections: Men (now London Fashion Week Men’s) in the little Topman sponsored pub. We ended up chatting for quite some time and since then we’ve headed to countless seasons and shows together. As well as being an incredibly fashionable chap, Robert is also a talented artist and I had the pleasure of being the subject of one of Robert J. Railton’s art pieces before. Robert and I bonded over menswear and I…

TV Review: RuPaul’s Drag Race S11 Ep 11: Bring Back My Queens
Brace yourself because I have another rant brewing! You thought I was mad last week when Shuga was unfairly sent into the lipsync, well this week’s episode has had me all kinds of vexed. Why? Well, because *spoiler alert* Nina West was wrongly eliminated this week! But I’ll come back to that later, just know that I’m fuming at RuPaul and his illegitimate daughter, Silky, who he keeps saving from elimination. After Shuga’s unjust elimination last week, the queens now know that the competition is hotting up. And there’s nobody who knows that more than Silky after she got read for filth (but saved from lipsyncing… again). I’m going to rush…

Jocks & Nerds Magazine – Svengali #ThrowbackThursday
Maybe I’m having a midlife crisis, maybe it’s Maybelline. I jest, I’m just reminiscing about the good old days and I thought they’d be worth sharing on my blog as a little ‘throwback’. I need to start sharing some of my old work a bit more as I never really broadcasted it. Anyway, today I thought I’d post a magazine spread of my first printed accreditation as a styling assistant. Way way back many centuries ago, not long after the Bible began, I met a great stylist called Karen Mason at London Collections: Men (now London Fashion Week Men’s). It was back in the early seasons of LCM when the…
